Keeping an Open Mind

When we enter this world from our mother’s womb, we develop habits.  We eat at a certain time, we sleep at a certain time.  As we grow older, habits stabilize.  If you are not happy with the way things are in your life, you might consider “change”, such as changing a habit.  Change is something that presses us out of our comfort zone.  The ONLY way to change is to “keep an open mind”.  And sometimes a trained professional can help you through this change process.

I know how hard change can be.  It doesn’t usually happen like 1 and then 10.  It generally happens, step 1, step 2, step 3, etc., until you reach 10 which IS the actual change.  And there tends to be an adjustment period which varies person to person.  I would be privileged  to walk this “change” journey with you.  My experience in working with many clients is that everyone changes and grows at their own pace.  I will respect your individual process.

My focus is to meet you where you are.  I understand ambivalence is part of the process.  At times you might want to move from step 1 to 3 quickly, and then decide that is too fast.

Asking for help when you need it is a sign of mental health. Therapy can provide you with new tools to help you understand what is and isn’t working well for you.  You might be able to survive problems on your own, but my question to you is:  Is survival enough?  What if making an attitudinal or habitual change brings more meaning and fulfillment into your everyday life experience?   Why not have a trained professional in your corner offering you new ideas and support.  I would be honored to be that person for you.
